Hayley (Year 10) lives and breathes music and harbours dreams of turning her passion into a career. “I have basically been playing my whole life and am really grateful to ³ûÖÊÓƵ for my Music scholarship, the chance to learn three instruments and receive a great education", she said.

As a prize winner in the recent American Virtuoso International Music Competition, Hayley has now been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall New York in both a solo recital and a chamber ensemble work. She will also participate in a masterclass with respected professors from music colleges across the United States.

Closer to home, Hayley last week came second overall in the Strike A Chord Musica Viva competition in Melbourne. She was not only recognised for her participation in the Bajeshka Piano Quartet, but reached the grand final (out of 120 chamber groups), for her work with the Piccolo String Quartet, and received a 12-month mentorship with the acclaimed Flinders Quartet.

³ûÖÊÓƵ Busking Captain Esha (Year 11) recently attended the renowned five-week Summer Music Program at Berklee College of Music. This intensive course is billed as the most comprehensive of its kind, producing famous graduates such as Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth. It gave Esha the chance to develop her expertise in singing with a band and improvisation, as well as improve her song writing and music production knowledge.

An elective Music student, Esha has a long history of participating in ³ûÖÊÓƵ choirs and orchestras. She is now focused on her solo vocalist skills and  accompanying herself on guitar.
